What is AdWords?

What is the difference between POP3 and IMAP?


  • POP3 downloads your emails once you receive them. This means that once you receive an email, you have it stored locally, and you will be able to access the email even if your internet is disconnected.
  • The standard POP3 settings are the recommended settings by SLB.


  • IMAP keeps your emails on the server. This means that when you want to interact with the email, it will be temporarily downloaded. IMAP allows you to access emails anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.
  • By using IMAP, you may have to upgrade your hosting plan at some point as you will most likely run out of space.

Why should I use POP3 over IMAP?

SLB Networks recommends using POP3 because of the following reasons:

  • Mail will be stored locally and can be accessed even without an internet connection
  • There is an option to have multiple email accounts set up with one inbox
  • Internet connection is only needed for receiving & sending mail
  • POP3 will help with the storage space on the server

How do I copy & paste a URL?

URL stands for "Uniform Resource Locator" and is used to specify the address of a web page.

To copy the URL, left-click the "URL Field" at the top of your browser until the URL text is highlighted. Right-click on the highlighted text. Select "Copy". (Copying temporarily stores information in the memory of your computer)

To paste the URL (immediately following the above step), in an email or Word document, right-click again and select "Paste" to paste the URL that you "copied" and that you want to share. (Pasting, is another way of saying "placing" in a document, some information that has been temporarily stored in your computer’s memory)

What is the best way to deliver (upload) files, images, etc. to SLB Networks?

There are multiple ways to deliver files to SLB depending on size, quantity, description, file types, etc.

We typically recommend Dropbox when dealing with higher quantities or larger file sizes. If you only have a few images that you need to send to us, you can email those images. Make sure you include a detailed description of what they are for, or where they are going and what they are replacing.

If you are sending us files to use for a new project, which was set up in our project manager, you can send us files up to 100mb through the project manager.

What is the best way to request website edits?

If we are currently working on a project for you, the best way is to send a message in our online project manager, along with a detailed description of your changes/edits. In your detailed description, please include the following: what pages, what exactly is being changed and what it should be changed to, the names of the images, what pages the images are going on, and any other details you think may be helpful. – Basically, we need to know what exactly comes out, and what exactly takes its place. Or exactly what gets deleted.

How long will it take to make my website?

There are a lot of factors that determine how long a project can take, and this will be addressed up front. It is important that we all get on the same page about expectations, how long we will take for our tasks, and how long you will have for specific steps in the process. Although there's always unforeseen obstacles, we try to be as clear as possible in the planning phases so there aren't any surprises.

My website already ranks really well in search engines, but I'm having SLB make me a new, modern site. Will my rankings be the same on the new site?

Although we cannot guarantee this, as there is a lot of top secret components to the way search engines operate, we will follow best practices and do everything possible to maintain your existing rankings.

I see a lot of websites with social media icons on them. Can I do this?

Yes! Social media integration is a great way to link together your various online presences. This allows for convenient sharing of content across all of your platforms, and streamline your information distribution.

I already own a domain, but I want a new website from SLB. Can I use my domain?

Absolutely! We will cover all of this in our intake process, but do not fear, using domains you already own is no problem at all.

If I purchase a new domain, can I switch my current website to the new domain name?
